What a perfect way to end my stay in Santa Fe! 10,000 Waves is everything a spa should be. From the moment I put on my kimono to the end when I checked out, it was a meditative and relaxing experience. As spa goers know, this isn't always easy to achieve. Enter a bridal party and meditative goes out the door really quickly! But, here nestled in the mountains of Santa fe, this Japanese spa, provides ample opportunity to unwind between services. There's the Relax room for meditation and then many seats in the sun surrounding the koi pond and waterfall.
My first service was the Master Massage, and my masseuse lived up to the name. She released tension and energy that left me truly in a zen state. I followed my massage with a private bath where I set in a hot tub surrounded by pine trees. My private bath area had a private sauna and cooling bert along with a spacious deck, so I could easily get out of the tub, sit in the sun and just soak in the energy here. My last treatment of the day was a facial which was like having a mini-vacation in an hour. I often have bad experiences with extraction, but this facial was nearly painfree and a complete joy. On my way out, I bought a kimono, a couple of Buddha stones to carry with me and some shampoo. As I walked down the steps to the parking lot, I looked back up at the Spa feeling like a rejuvenated traveler, and knowing that I would be back.
Treat yourself and make sure you put 10,000 Waves on your travel itinerary. Just say Spaaaaahhhhh!
